Fenerbahçe will look to strike a blow against their former boss, Vítor Pereira, when he begins his Nottingham Forest tenure in this UEFA Europa League knockout round play-off first leg. This will be the first meeting between these two sides. Fenerbahçe have won just five of their 20 prior clashes against English sides in Europe, while Forest are yet to face any Turkish side. 

Currently battling tooth and nail for what would be a 20th Turkish title, Fenerbahçe enter this UEL knockout round play-off tie on the back of four straight domestic victories since the conclusion of the league phase. Nottingham Forest’s tumultuous season continued after Sean Dyche became the third managerial casualty of the season, with a draw last week extending their winless run to three despite picking up more league points this term than his two predecessors combined. Pereira becomes the fourth manager to take the reins at Forest this season, ahead of this UEL tie and the survival fight that follows.
